Job Description:
Ensure accurate, compliant, and timely financial accounting and reporting in line with IFRS, laws, and internal policies. Maintain the general ledger, prepare financial statements and management reports, oversee reconciliations and internal controls, and support budgeting, forecasting, and audits.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide financial information through analysis of accounting data and preparation of reports.
- Prepare asset, liability, equity entries, post and review journal entries and adjustments.
- Document and record financial transactions; maintain the general ledger.
- Compile monthly/annual financial statements (balance sheet, P&L, cash flow).
- Maintain and strengthen accounting controls, draft and update policies & procedures.
- Investigate and reconcile variances; resolve financial discrepancies.
- Prepare special/ad-hoc financial reports and trend analyses.
- Process payments by verifying documentation and initiating disbursements.
- Safeguard financial data by adhering to internal controls and segregation of duties.
- Update and reconcile the fixed-asset register to the GL; ensure IFRS-compliant asset reporting.
- Support budgeting/forecasting cycles and provide management information.
- Meet performance-management deadlines; identify training and development needs.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business plus ACCA or CIMA.
- BICA membership.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Advanced proficiency with IFRS and financial reporting.
- Strong Excel and ERP/Accounting systems capability (computerised accounting environment).
- Audit exposure (internal or external) and experience with process/policy documentation.
Skills:

- Reconciliation and variance analysis; cash management.
- Auditing mindset and internal-control discipline.
- Technology proficiency (Excel/ERP); continuous learning.

Relevant Experience:
- Minimum 8 years’ post-qualification accounting experience, including at least 2 years at supervisory level.
- Demonstrated experience in a computerised accounting environment handling GL, fixed assets, payments, and reconciliations.
