Job Summary:

The Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the operations and creating an environment conducive to high productivity for staff. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in remote lodge management and a strong background in sustainability and wildlife conservation.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure all organizational requirements and standards are adhered to, centered around providing a unique guest experience at all properties.
  • Cultivate a work environment where the company culture is instilled in all operational aspects.
  • Manage logistics for remote operational locations.
  • Develop and manage operational budgets.
  • Create and implement standard operating procedures for field teams, integrating knowledge of IT and computer systems.
  • Oversee the management of company sustainability initiatives and environmental conservation efforts.
  • Manage guest wildlife experiences by ensuring holistic and engaging guiding experiences.
  • Oversee procurement, retail, and stock control operations.
  • Coordinate conservation activities with the Department of Wildlife and lead the company’s involvement in wildlife management and conservation.


Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum National Diploma in Game Ranch Management, Conservation, or Lodge Management.
  • Relevant courses in practical labor law would be an added advantage.
  • A thorough understanding of camp/lodge/hotel standard operating procedures with a focus on conservation best practices.
  • Extensive knowledge of IT systems such as Kerio Control, VLAN, and access point systems, Nebula PMS, and Plus Point stock monitoring systems.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in remote lodge or game lodge management.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Additional certifications or courses in sustainability, conservation, or hospitality management.


Skills:

  • Strong leadership and team management abilities.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple aspects of lodge operations simultaneously.
  • In-depth understanding of the hospitality, conservation, and wildlife management industries.
