Job Description:
The Materials Engineer will ensure that all materials used in construction meet required standards and project specifications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct tests on materials to ensure compliance with project specifications and standards.
- Maintain detailed records of material tests, approvals, and corrective actions.
- Collaborate with engineers, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution.
- Assess and select appropriate materials for road construction based on their properties, cost, and project requirements.
- Identify and address material-related issues and recommend corrective actions.
- Provide technical support to ensure materials are used efficiently.
- Perform other assignments as needed to meet service requirements.
Required Qualifications & Experience:
- Degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
- Valid ERB practicing certificate.
- Valid Class B driver’s license.
- Minimum of 5 years in bituminous paved roadways and road construction.
Skills & Competencies:
- Leadership and project management skills.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
- Excellent communication and report-writing skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
