Job Description

The Technical Operations Manager will oversee all aspects of the company’s technical operations, including the deployment, installation, and maintenance of satellite connectivity infrastructure. The role requires strong leadership, advanced technical expertise, and the ability to scale operations in a high-growth, technology-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage day-to-day technical operations, including installation, network configuration, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
• Build, mentor, and lead a team of field engineers, technicians, and support staff.
• Ensure network uptime, service quality, and compliance with Starlink and regulatory standards.
• Develop and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for installations, maintenance, and customer support.
• Collaborate with sales and customer service teams to ensure smooth onboarding and technical support.
• Oversee inventory, logistics, and deployment of connectivity hardware and related equipment.
• Manage vendor relationships and liaise with Starlink technical support.
• Drive continuous improvement in service delivery, operational efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
• Contribute to strategic planning for network expansion, scalability, and infrastructure resilience.

• Technical planning and project implementation expertise

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering, Information Technology, or related field (Master’s degree preferred).
• ISO 9001 Quality Management certification from a recognised body.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in satellite or radio network planning, ISP operations, or technical management.
• Proven track record leading technical teams in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong project management, analytical, and communication skills.
• Willingness to travel across Botswana for deployments and site supervision.
