Job Description:
We are seeking a highly experienced Operations Manager to join the leadership team of a renowned luxury safari company in South Africa. The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience in high-end safari lodge operations and a passion for delivering exceptional guest experiences while maintaining operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee and coordinate all lodge and support office operations, including guest services, reservations, food & beverage, front office, and housekeeping.
• Implement and manage hospitality and reservation systems to improve workflow and reporting.
• Lead procurement and stock control processes with strong administrative discipline.
• Ensure excellence in all food and beverage offerings—from menu planning to event catering.
• Mentor and train staff to drive team performance and continuous improvement.
• Manage scheduling, budgets, and departmental cost control.
• Support lodge sustainability initiatives, community partnerships, and conservation programs.

Minimum Requirements

• 20+ years of experience in senior operations roles within high-end safari lodges or eco-tourism properties.
• Strong food & beverage expertise, including menu planning, catering logistics, and service delivery.
• High proficiency in hospitality systems and lodge administration (stock control and staff scheduling tools).
• Proven ability to oversee reservations systems and provide technical support.
• Excellent leadership, interpersonal, and multitasking abilities.

Preferred Experience

• Previous management roles in 5-Star or upmarket safari lodges.
• Proven F&B management experience in both kitchen and dining operations.
• Demonstrated involvement in community engagement and lodge-based conservation programs.
• Experience with new lodge or camp launches, including end-to-end management of openings, infrastructure development, and recruitment.

Education & Qualifications

• National Higher Diploma in Advanced Catering Management/Hospitality.
• National Diploma in Guiding/Game Ranging.
