Job Description:
Lead enterprise risk management (ERM) across the organisation to safeguard operational stability, regulatory compliance, and strategic objectives. Build and maintain risk frameworks, policies, and procedures; drive a risk-aware culture; advise senior leadership on emerging risks; and ensure effective mitigation, business continuity, and reporting to decision-makers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Risk identification & assessment: Conduct organisation-wide risk assessments; maintain an up-to-date risk register with causes, impacts, and owners.
- Risk analysis & evaluation: Quantify likelihood/impact, prioritise risks, and recommend proportionate treatment plans.
- Mitigation & controls: Develop and oversee mitigation strategies, control effectiveness testing, and policy enforcement.
- Monitoring & reporting: Track key risk indicators (KRIs); produce dashboards and board-level reports with trends and actions.
- Regulatory compliance: Ensure compliance with applicable laws, licences, and industry standards; coordinate responses to regulators.
- Crisis management & BCP: Maintain business continuity and disaster recovery plans; lead incident/crisis response and after-action reviews.
- Training & awareness: Run targeted training and campaigns to embed a risk-aware culture across all departments.
- Stakeholder engagement: Partner with Finance, Legal, Audit, Fraud, IT/Security, and Business Units to align risk with strategy and projects.
- Advisory: Provide expert guidance on risk for initiatives, contracts, change requests, and new product rollouts.
Required Qualifications:
- Degree in Risk Management, Finance, Business Administration, Economics or related field.
- Minimum 5 years professional experience in risk management, compliance, or related function in telecoms/financial services/corporate sectors.
- Experience working with regulatory bodies and implementing compliance requirements.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree (advantageous).
- Recognised risk credentials such as CRMP, CRFCMP, IRM, or CISI certifications; other relevant risk/compliance/internal audit qualifications.
- Proven experience in crisis management and business continuity planning.
Skills:
- Enterprise risk management frameworks and best practice application.
- Strong analytical and data skills (risk modelling, KRIs/KPIs, dashboarding).
- Regulatory and compliance literacy relevant to telecoms/corporate sales.
- Strategic thinking with the ability to align risk and business goals.
- Clear written and verbal communication; ability to brief non-specialists and executives.
- Sound judgement, prioritisation, and decision-making under pressure.
- Problem-solving, creativity, and timely response to emerging risks.
- Leadership and influence across cross-functional teams; culture-building.
- Proficiency with risk tools (risk registers, GRC/reporting platforms).
- Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills.
Relevant Experience:
- Leading ERM cycles (identify–assess–treat–monitor–report) and embedding KRIs.
- Preparing board/EXCO risk packs and coordinating with Internal Audit/Compliance.
- Implementing BCP/DR, incident response, and lessons-learned improvements.
- Influencing senior stakeholders and guiding line management on control design and remediation.
