Job Description:
Generally, interns are expected to support day-to-day operations within assigned departments while gaining exposure to professional work environments. Depending on placement, interns may be involved in administrative support, data handling, basic analysis, research, coordination tasks, customer-facing activities or technical support.
The role is designed to build practical skills, workplace readiness and an understanding of how organisations operate in the chosen sector, while contributing meaningfully to team objectives under supervision.
Key Responsibilities:
Depending on the employer, interns are expected to -
- Assist with day-to-day tasks and projects within your assigned department (e.g. Finance, HR, Admin, Operations, Engineering, ICT, Sales & Marketing, etc.).
- Support data entry, documentation, filing and basic reporting activities.
- Conduct basic research, analysis or information gathering as requested by supervisors.
- Assist with internal and external communication (emails, calls, meeting preparation, minutes, etc.).
- Help prepare presentations, spreadsheets, reports or other business documents.
- Shadow senior staff to understand workflows, systems and organisational structures.
- Participate in meetings, training sessions and induction activities as required.
- Adhere to company policies, procedures, confidentiality requirements and professional standards.
- Contribute positively to team objectives and maintain a strong learning attitude.
Required Qualifications
- Currently studying towards OR recently completed a Diploma / Degree in any relevant field, such as (but not limited to):
- Finance, Accounting, Economics, Banking
- Business Administration, Management, Marketing, Human Resources
- Information Technology, Computer Science, Data/Analytics
- Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, etc.)
- Supply Chain, Logistics, Procurement
- Hospitality, Tourism, Retail Management
- Property, Real Estate, Facilities Management
- Social Sciences or related disciplines
- Basic computer literacy (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Good written and verbal communication skills in English (Setswana an advantage).
Preferred Qualifications
- Good academic performance/grades in relevant modules.
- Any short courses / certificates, e.g. MS Office, digital skills, customer service, safety, basic finance, etc.
- Participation in student clubs, societies, community projects or leadership roles.

- Good organisational and time management skills.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in completing tasks.
- Ability to work well in a team and follow instructions.
