Job Description:
Lead the finance function to strengthen financial reporting, controls, compliance, budgeting, forecasting, and strategic business support. This role is part of a long-term succession plan and suits a commercially minded finance leader able to improve financial discipline and support organisational growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead day-to-day finance operations and supervise the finance team.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual management accounts and financial reports.
- Manage budgeting, forecasting, cashflow planning, and financial analysis.
- Monitor costs, margins, and business performance; advise management on improvements.
- Ensure compliance with statutory, tax, audit, and regulatory requirements.
- Strengthen internal controls, governance frameworks, and risk management processes.
- Oversee AP, AR, reconciliations, and general ledger integrity.
- Support external audits and liaise with auditors, banks, and key stakeholders.
- Partner with operational departments to improve financial efficiency and decision-making.
- Support long-term financial planning and succession readiness initiatives.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Commerce, or related field.
- Professional qualification: ACCA, CIMA, CA, CPA, or equivalent.
- Proven experience in a senior finance role (Finance Manager/Financial Controller or similar).
- Strong knowledge of reporting, budgeting, internal controls, and compliance.
- ERP/accounting systems experience and advanced Excel skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in manufacturing, FMCG, retail, wholesale, or distribution.
- Experience managing multi-department finance operations.
- Exposure to succession planning or strategic finance leadership.
- Knowledge of Botswana tax, audit, and statutory compliance.
