Job Description:
Lead maintenance strategy and execution for manufacturing machinery and plant equipment to minimise downtime, improve reliability, and support efficient production output. Oversee preventive maintenance, breakdown response, spares control, technical team leadership, and compliance with safety and engineering standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the maintenance function for production machinery and plant systems.
- Develop and implement preventive/planned maintenance schedules.
- Troubleshoot and resolve breakdowns quickly to reduce downtime.
- Ensure machinery is maintained to safe, reliable operating standards.
- Oversee mechanical, electrical, and production-support maintenance activities.
- Supervise technicians, contractors, and service providers.
- Maintain maintenance records, RCA reports, downtime logs, and performance reporting.
- Manage spare parts, tools, and technical procurement requirements.
- Recommend machinery upgrades and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with safety, engineering, and operational standards.
- Partner with production teams to support uninterrupted output.
Required Qualifications:
- Degree/Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, Electromechanical, Maintenance Engineering, or related field.
- Proven maintenance leadership experience in manufacturing/industrial environments.
- Strong hands-on machinery maintenance and breakdown diagnostics.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in food processing, FMCG, packaging, or continuous production environments.
- Exposure to hydraulics, pneumatics, conveyors, motors, gearboxes, pumps, and automation systems.
- Experience setting maintenance KPIs and reliability improvement programs.
- International/expatriate maintenance exposure if applicable (client to confirm).
Skills:
- Technical fault-finding and troubleshooting.
- Preventive and corrective maintenance planning.
- Team leadership and contractor supervision.
- Root-cause analysis and continuous improvement mindset.
- Strong reporting, organisation, and ability to work under pressure.
Relevant Experience:
- Demonstrated success reducing downtime, improving reliability, and leading technical teams in a manufacturing environment.
