Job Description
Our client is a reputable organization operating within the construction, engineering, and industrial operations sector, committed to delivering high-quality projects while maintaining strong governance, procurement efficiency, and financial accountability.

The organization is seeking to appoint a Procurement Officer on a 3-month fixed-term contract to support procurement operations, ensuring goods and services are sourced efficiently, cost-effectively, and in full compliance with procurement policies and procedures.

The role requires a detail-oriented and proactive professional responsible for managing procurement processes, supplier coordination, purchase order administration, and ensuring timely delivery, pricing accuracy, and quality standards are met.

Key Responsibilities

Procurement Operations

  • Source quotations for goods and services in line with procurement policies
  • Analyse supplier pricing, quality, and compliance
  • Coordinate approval of quotations with relevant stakeholders
  • Create and issue purchase orders and communicate with requestors

Order & Delivery Management

  • Confirm delivery timelines with suppliers and communicate updates
  • Follow up on orders to ensure timely delivery
  • Expedite purchase orders to ensure closure within required timelines
  • Resolve issues related to late or non-delivery of goods/services

Supplier & Vendor Management

  • Maintain and update supplier database
  • Support onboarding of new suppliers and ensure accurate documentation
  • Build and maintain strong supplier relationships

Procurement Compliance & Administration

  • Ensure full compliance with procurement policies and procedures
  • Maintain confidentiality of supplier quotations and pricing
  • Declare any conflicts of interest in line with company policy
  • Submit procurement documentation to Finance for processing
  • Maintain proper records for audit and accountability

Inventory & Stakeholder Coordination

  • Liaise with internal departments to understand procurement needs
  • Ensure timely availability of materials and services
  • Monitor procurement turnaround times and stakeholder satisfaction

Reporting & Performance Tracking

  • Track procurement performance (cost savings, turnaround time, supplier performance)
  • Support preparation of procurement reports
  • Ensure compliance with audit requirements

Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree or Diploma in Procurement & Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or related field
  • CIPS or equivalent certification will be an added advantage

Experience Requirements

  • Minimum 4 yearsexperience in procurement or supply chain
  • Experience in construction, engineering, or industrial environments preferred
  • Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAGE) is an added advantage
