Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Ophthalmic Nurse to assist in the assessment, treatment, and care of patients with various eye conditions and injuries, including glaucoma, cataracts, macular degeneration, astigmatism, and eye trauma.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist with eye exams, conduct vision tests, collect personal medical histories, and record all symptoms and exam results.
• Educate patients on how to care for their eye diseases or injuries at home.
• Administer medications, such as eye drops.
• Perform fittings for contact lenses and glasses.
• Assist in eye surgical procedures, prep patients for surgery, and care for patients during recovery.

Required Qualifications:

• Degree/Diploma in Nursing.
• Registered Nurse (RN) with valid nursing license from the Botswana Health Professionals Council (BHPC).
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience, with a focus on ophthalmology preferred.
• Experience working in an ophthalmic setting, including conducting vision tests, assisting with eye exams, and administering medications.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Attention to detail and commitment to patient care.
