Freedom 77 Recruitment is seeking candidates to work for an esteemed legal firm seeking an Associate Attorney with a strong background in corporate transactions, litigation, and commercial drafting.


Job Summary:

The ideal candidate will be a hardworking, career-focused professional with in-depth commercial awareness, extensive litigation experience, and exceptional drafting skills. This role involves providing high-quality legal services, including litigation, corporate advisory, and governance support, to clients in various sectors.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Taking initial client instructions and managing cases.
  • Drafting legal opinions, pleadings, and corporate legal documents, including agreements.
  • Attending court proceedings and conducting alternative dispute resolution processes.
  • Conducting detailed legal research in areas of expertise.
  • Negotiating and reviewing corporate legal documents.
  • Providing ongoing corporate and commercial advice and governance services.
  • Reviewing legal documents for compliance purposes.
  • Delivering innovative solutions to meet client needs, maintaining international standards of service.


Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Laws Degree (preference for candidates with a minimum 2:1 grade and exceptional transcripts).
  • At least 5 years of post-admission or post-qualification experience.
  • Additional certifications (e.g., Trial Advocacy or Corporate-Commercial) will be an advantage.
  • Must be an admitted attorney eligible to practice before the Courts of the Republic of Botswana.
  • Extensive knowledge and experience in legal practice and corporate-commercial law.
