Job Description:

Freedom 77 Recruitment is seeking an accomplished Road Project Manager with a BSc in Quantity Surveying or Civil Engineering to lead major road infrastructure projects in Botswana. This role is best suited for a seasoned professional with extensive road construction experience, exceptional leadership skills, and a proven track record in delivering large-scale projects in South Africa or other SADC countries.

Key Requirements

• Minimum Qualifications: BSc in Quantity Surveying or Civil Engineering.
• Experience: Minimum 15 years in the construction industry, with at least 10 years dedicated to road construction.
• Professional Certifications: Highly advantageous SACPCMP or ECSA registration preferred.
• Geographical Experience: Must have successfully project managed the building of roads in Africa or SADC countries.
• International Funding Projects: Experience in World Bank or African Development Bank funded projects is an advantage.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of road construction projects from inception to completion.
• Oversee all project phases including scheduling, budgeting, and quality control.
• Ensure compliance with design specifications, safety standards, and contractual obligations.
• Manage multidisciplinary teams, subcontractors, and suppliers to achieve project milestones.
• Liaise with clients, consultants, government agencies, and funding bodies to ensure smooth project execution.
• Implement risk management strategies and cost control measures.
• Prepare detailed project progress reports for stakeholders.
• Foster a culture of safety, efficiency, and continuous improvement on site.

• Strong understanding of road construction methodologies and standards.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and negotiation skills.
• Financial acumen with the ability to manage complex budgets.
• In-depth knowledge of international funding compliance requirements.
