Job Description:

Freedom 77 Recruitment is seeking an experienced Bridge Engineer with a BSc in Civil Engineering to join a leading infrastructure project team in Botswana. The ideal candidate will have extensive hands-on experience in constructing bridges from the contractor side, rather than solely focusing on design or construction supervision from the consulting engineer’s perspective.

Key Requirements

• Minimum Qualifications: BSc in Civil Engineering.
• Experience: Minimum 7 years of experience working specifically as a Bridge Engineer.
• Construction Experience: Must have direct, on-site experience in building bridges on the contractor side.
• Preference will be given to candidates with a strong track record of delivering completed bridge projects to specification, on time, and within budget.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee all construction activities for bridge projects.
• Ensure construction is executed according to design specifications, safety regulations, and quality standards.
• Coordinate site teams, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure seamless operations.
• Implement efficient construction methodologies and resolve technical issues on site.
• Conduct quality control inspections throughout the construction process.
• Liaise with clients, consultants, and relevant authorities to ensure smooth project delivery.
• Prepare progress reports and ensure accurate documentation of construction activities.

• Strong leadership and team coordination skills.
• In-depth technical knowledge of bridge construction processes and materials.
• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities on site.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and construction plans.
• Strong communication skills for effective interaction with stakeholders.
