Job Description:
Co-drive and strengthen the accounting function by leading month- and year-end close, ensuring policy adherence, and delivering accurate financial statements and audits. Oversee receivables, payables, fixed assets, leases, cash & bank, and ERP reconciliations while coordinating closely with Controlling and operational teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure company accounting policy adherence across all departments.
- Lead and coordinate monthly & yearly close in collaboration with Controlling.
- Oversee AR/AP, Fixed Assets, Leases, Cash & Bank processing and accounting.
- Coordinate with operational departments and the ERP team (Senegal) for account/balance reconciliations.
- Prepare interim and annual financial audits (entity and group).
- Establish and maintain monthly and annual financial accounts for OBW and OM.
- Organise AR/AP, Reporting, and Cash & Bank teams to deliver clean accounts and ERP-aligned reconciliations.
- Act as interface between suppliers and internal stakeholders on accounting and payment processes.
- Monitor cash, working capital, and provide monthly analyses requested by Controlling.
- Ensure purchase orders are processed timeously and payments reconciled in ERP.
- Communicate payment delays/risks to relevant stakeholders.
- Reconcile accruals and related-party balances; manage lease updates.
- Uphold integrity; follow company policies and procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Financial Reporting Manager.
Required Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Accounting/Finance (or equivalent).
- Professional designation ideally BICA or ACCA.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Advanced training in Financial Reporting & Analysis, Budgeting & Forecasting, or Audit & Compliance (GAAP/IFRS).
Skills:
- Strong accounting expertise across AP, Fixed Assets, and Leases.
- Proven closing experience (monthly & annual) with cross-functional alignment.
- Team leadership: coordinate, monitor, coach, and challenge performance.
- Analytical thinking; issue resolution across Accounting and Controlling.
- Collaboration with operational and finance departments; customer orientation.
- Attention to detail; documentation accuracy; quality focus.
- ERP proficiency and digital tools; strong audit capabilities (internal/external).
- Initiative, independence, and teamwork; project coordination and organisation.
- Sound knowledge of business and external environment.
Relevant Experience:
- 10+ years in Accounting & Finance, including GL operations, AP/AR oversight.
- Hands-on Financial Reporting & Analysis (BS/IS/CF).
- Budgeting & Forecasting exposure and performance monitoring.
- Audit & Compliance experience with GAAP/IFRS and regulatory requirements.
