Job Description

Our client is seeking hardworking and dedicated Public Area Attendants to join their team at a luxury game lodge. As the face of the lodge, you will be responsible for maintaining the beauty, cleanliness, and presentation of all shared spaces — creating a stunning first impression for guests and ensuring their experience remains exceptional from start to finish.

This is a hands-on role that requires initiative, attention to detail, and a warm, approachable demeanor.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain Public Spaces: Clean and upkeep public areas including the lobby, reception, dining hall, bar, restrooms, and relaxation zones (sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and dusting).
  • Waste Management: Regularly empty trash receptacles and keep public areas spotless.
  • Restroom Sanitation: Clean and sanitize public restrooms, ensuring they’re fully stocked and presented to the highest standard.
  • Spot Cleaning: Quickly respond to spills and messes to maintain a clean, safe environment for guests.
  • Reporting Maintenance: Report issues like broken furniture or burnt-out bulbs to the maintenance team.
  • Team Support: Assist with setup for events, conferences, and special occasions as required.

Qualifications, Experience & Skills

  • Proven experience as a room or public area attendant in a hotel, safari camp, or lodge setting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Positive, friendly, and professional attitude.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
  • Knowledge of housekeeping service standards and hygiene practices.
  • Experience in remote or unique locations is an added advantage.
  • Passion for nature, wildlife, and the outdoors is highly desirable.
