Job Description:
Lead a busy dealership service centre end-to-end: oversee workshop operations, mentor technicians and service advisors, own the P&L, uphold OEM standards/warranty processes, and lift first-time-fix and CSI scores while enforcing 5S/HSE.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage daily workflow, bay capacity, productivity and efficiency across the workshop.
- Recruit, train, lead and performance-manage technicians and service advisors.
- Act as final technical authority on complex diagnostics; perform final quality checks.
- Own workshop P&L (labour rates, productivity, parts margin, expense control) to meet/exceed budget.
- Ensure OEM brand standards and warranty procedures are strictly followed.
- Resolve escalated customer issues and improve CSI.
- Maintain a clean, safe, compliant workshop (5S, HSE).
Required Qualifications:
- Proven experience managing a dealership workshop in Africa (non-negotiable).
- Deep technical expertise with Mazda and/or Ford diagnostics (non-negotiable).
- 10+ years in workshop management with direct P&L responsibility.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Diploma/Degree in Automotive Technology/Mechanical Engineering; master tech/high-level certifications.
- EV/Hybrid diagnostics certification and safety (H/EV Level 2+).
Skills:
- Hands-on diagnostic leadership; ability to coach A-level technicians.
- Financial acumen, customer focus, and strict compliance to OEM/warranty standards.
Relevant Experience:
- Record of lifting productivity/utilisation, first-time-fix and CSI, and meeting budget targets in a branded dealership environment.
