Job Description
Our client is a reputable organization operating within the retail and distribution sector, committed to delivering high-quality products and services while maintaining efficiency, safety, and reliability within its logistics and delivery operations.
To support its distribution activities, the organization seeks to appoint a reliable and responsible Delivery Driver who will be responsible for transporting and delivering goods safely and efficiently to customers. The role requires ensuring that deliveries are completed accurately and on time while maintaining proper documentation, verifying loads, and complying with company procedures and transport regulations. The successful candidate must demonstrate strong attention to detail, professionalism, and the ability to maintain accurate delivery records in line with operational standards.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Safely operate company delivery vehicles to transport goods to designated delivery locations.
- Verify loads before dispatch to ensure accuracy of products and quantities.
- Deliver goods to customers in a timely and professional manner.
- Issue invoices and obtain customer signatures upon delivery where required.
- Maintain accurate delivery records and documentation.
- Follow all company safety procedures and road transport regulations.
- Ensure proper handling of goods to prevent damage during transportation.
- Report any vehicle issues, delays, or delivery discrepancies to management.
- Maintain professional conduct and represent the company positively when interacting with customers.
Qualifications & Experience
- Valid Driver’s Licence (Mandatory): EB / EC
- Valid PRDP “G” (Goods)
- Cross-border driving permit and experience will be considered a strong advantage
- Minimum academic qualifications required (BGCSE)
- Experience in delivery, logistics, or retail distribution an added advantage
Key Skills & Competencies
- Strong inventory and paperwork management skills.
- Ability to verify loads for accuracy before dispatch and delivery.
- Competence in issuing invoices and collecting customer signatures.
- Strong attention to detail and accountability when handling stock and documentation.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
- Must be willing to conduct deliveries across Botswana, including Gaborone, Palapye, Maun, Francistown, Kasane, and other locations as required.
- Ability to work independently and follow delivery schedules efficiently.
Health, Safety & Compliance Requirements
- Physically fit and able to lift and carry packages up to 20–30 kg when required.
- Knowledge of health and safety procedures related to transport and delivery operations.
- Understanding of Hours of Service (HOS) regulations to ensure compliance and prevent overworking.
- Willingness to undergo security vetting, including criminal record checks and, where applicable, drug and alcohol screening.
