Job Summary:

The Sales and Operations Manager will provide strategic leadership and direction for sales and operations services. The role involves managing client relationships, driving sales performance, ensuring operational excellence, and working toward service improvements.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop a sales department strategy in collaboration with the executive team, aligning with company goals.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing clients, while identifying opportunities for new business.
  • Coordinate sales and marketing activities to achieve common objectives.
  • Work with external vendors to manage contracts, renewals, and terminations.
  • Manage employee performance in relation to sales goals, providing feedback and identifying training needs.
  • Develop strategies to improve sales performance by increasing sales volume or margins.
  • Analyze data from various sources to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
  • Plan and coordinate events, such as trade shows, conventions, and webinars.
  • Use technology to track leads and manage customer relationships.
  • Achieve or exceed quarterly and annual sales targets.
  • Design and implement systems and processes to support an efficient sales organization.
  • Oversee territory assignments, account plans, and quotas in collaboration with sales, supply, and strategy teams.
  • Monitor team performance against KPIs and take corrective action when needed.
  • Coach and develop direct reports, providing feedback and guidance.
  • Represent the company at trade shows and industry events.
  • Keep up-to-date on competitor products and strategies.
  • Negotiate contracts with vendors and service providers.
  • Prepare and deliver presentations to upper management.
  • Manage the sales budget, ensuring expenditures remain within allocated limits.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, operations, sales, or a related field. Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • 8+ years of experience in sales operations, sales management, or a similar role in the same industry.
  • 3+ years of managerial experience.
  • Proven track record of achieving quotas and driving growth.
  • Strong understanding of the sales process and methodologies.
  • Excellent analytical skills with experience in data-driven decision-making.
  • Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.


Competencies:

  • Strong understanding of key performance metrics and processes (pipeline, forecasting, demand generation).
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Skilled in identifying opportunities for performance enhancement and developing strategies to drive improvement.
  • Excellent negotiation and presentation skills.
  • Proven ability to articulate unique aspects of products and services.
  • Knowledge of how to develop client-focused, differentiated, and achievable solutions.
  • Ability to position products against competitors.
