  • Work closely with operations and production teams to monitor manufacturing costs, operational expenditure and profitability.
  • Establish and maintain effective financial controls, policies and procedures.
  • Identify financial and operational risks and recommend appropriate mitigating controls.
  • Coordinate internal and external audits and ensure that all audit requirements are addressed within agreed timelines.
  • Ensure compliance with Botswana Unified Revenue Service requirements, including corporate income tax, Value Added Tax, Pay As You Earn and other statutory obligations.
  • Ensure compliance with transfer-pricing requirements and maintain appropriate supporting documentation where applicable.
  • Prepare and submit statutory, regulatory and group financial reports within prescribed deadlines.
  • Support the preparation of financial information required by shareholders, directors and other stakeholders.
  • Review contracts, procurement commitments and major expenditure requests from a financial and risk perspective.
  • Monitor capital expenditure and ensure that approved projects remain within budget.
  • Maintain accurate financial records and ensure the integrity and confidentiality of financial information.
  • Manage, mentor and develop employees within the finance department.
  • Establish performance objectives for finance team members and monitor their progress.
  • Support the implementation and improvement of accounting systems, Enterprise Resource Planning systems and financial reporting tools.
  • Participate in strategic planning, business improvement and cost-optimisation initiatives.
  • Perform any other finance-related responsibilities assigned by senior management.
