Job Description:

The Assistant Resident Engineer (ARE) – Mechanical will assist in supervising mechanical construction works, with a focus on water pumping installations and borehole equipping. The ARE will ensure that all mechanical works meet project specifications, quality standards, and safety requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise mechanical installation activities, ensuring compliance with designs, specifications, and health and safety regulations.
• Review and verify mechanical designs, equipment specifications, and material submissions.
• Monitor workmanship and material quality during project execution.
• Coordinate with contractors, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure timely project delivery.
• Conduct site inspections, system testing, and commissioning activities.
• Prepare detailed progress reports and highlight potential risks and recommended mitigation actions.
• Provide technical guidance and support to ensure mechanical systems are installed and functioning optimally.

Requirements and Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree (Mechanical Engineering) and
• A registered professional engineer.
• Minimum of 6 years as a mechanical engineer, experience in construction of water pumping installations and borehole equipping in 2 or more projects.

Skills:

• Strong understanding of mechanical systems, particularly in water infrastructure projects.
• Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills.
• Effective communication and technical reporting skills.
• Familiarity with mechanical codes and standards (e.g., ASHRAE, CIBSE).
• Ability to review mechanical drawings and specifications.
• Site supervision and quality assurance skills.
