Main Purpose of the Job
The General Manager will oversee all aspects of hotel operations, including guest services, facilities management, finance, events, and staff leadership. The ideal candidate will be a dynamic and experienced hospitality professional with a passion for excellence, a strong commercial mindset, and the ability to deliver seamless operations in a boutique or luxury hotel environment.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Leadership:
- Oversee day-to-day operations across all departments, including front office, housekeeping, food and beverage, conferencing, and facilities management.
- Ensure seamless delivery of services and adherence to the highest standards of hospitality.
Guest Experience:
- Champion an exceptional guest journey by delivering personalised, memorable experiences and maintaining world-class service quality.
Financial Management:
- Develop and manage budgets, monitor financial performance, and implement strategies to maximise profitability and efficiency.
Staff Leadership:
- Recruit, train, and lead a diverse and motivated team.
- Foster a positive, performance-driven workplace culture.
Events & Conferencing:
- Manage the hotel’s conference and event spaces, hosting up to 500 guests, ensuring flawless execution of corporate, social, and bespoke events.
Grounds & Facilities:
- Oversee upkeep of the hotel’s grounds, ensuring facilities remain pristine and operational.
Marketing & Business Development:
- Work closely with the marketing team to enhance brand visibility, promote hotel services, and grow revenue streams.
Compliance & Safety:
- Ensure adherence to all legal, health, safety, and industry standards.
Stakeholder Engagement:
- Build strong relationships with vendors, local communities, and industry partners to support the hotel’s reputation and growth.

Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5–7 years’ senior management experience in a boutique or luxury hotel environment.
- Proven track record in budgeting, forecasting, and financial performance management.
- Experience managing large-scale events, conferencing, and F&B operations.
- Proficiency in hotel management systems, MS Office Suite, and related software.
- Strong engagement skills with stakeholders, clients, and local communities.
- Knowledge of Botswana’s hospitality sector and market trends is advantageous.
