Job Summary:
The Land Surveyors will be responsible for conducting land surveys, preparing detailed reports, and ensuring the accurate establishment of property boundaries. The ideal candidates will have extensive technical expertise, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and maintain sketches, maps, reports, and legal descriptions of surveys to describe and certify performed work.
- Verify the accuracy of survey data, including measurements and calculations conducted at survey sites.
- Conduct surveys to establish legal boundaries for properties based on legal deeds and titles.
- Record the results of surveys, including the shape, contour, location, elevation, and dimensions of land or land features.
- Calculate heights, depths, relative positions, property lines, and other terrain characteristics.
- Supervise the preparation of data, charts, plots, maps, and related documents.
- Write descriptions of property boundary surveys for use in legal documents.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Land Surveying or a related field (an associate’s degree with relevant work experience may be considered).
- At least 5 years of experience in land surveying.
Preferred Qualifications and Skills:
- Strong knowledge of building codes and attention to detail.
- Positive attitude and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Proficiency in mapping science, cartography, and photo surveying.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to analyze and interpret survey data accurately.
